Our client is involved in markets such as construction, lighting, rail & automotive and have therefore been very busy throughout the past 12 months.

The primary focus of the company is aluminium extrusions and with fast-emerging new markets such as the HS2, electric vehicles and the need for sustainable energy-efficient building projects aluminium demand is ever increasing thus the need for expansion.

Job Role

  • Communicate information to internal staff regarding potential business opportunities, product profile, expected volume, market size, the competitiveness of the market and unique job specifications.
  • Call on existing key accounts to determine new or changing product requirements and business opportunities.
  • Present customer specifications to internal team to develop existing business and prepare quotes
  • Attend meetings with clients to further develop business and gain product knowledge.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures and finds methods to improve efficiency.
  • Keep up to date with stock situation and management
  • Basic purchasing and keeping tabs on global supply chain
  • Overseeing machining projects internally and managing sub-contract operations
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry and product updates
  • Managing credit limits of customers and liaising with the commercial team.
  • Price discussions and negotiations with new and assisting clients.

Experience / Requirements

 

  • Technical or industrial background ideal but not essential.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service and interdepartmental management.
  • Ability to travel if required.
  • Excellent mathematics skills for estimating and forecasting.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to be forward-thinking and think on feet
  • Ability to create excellent working relationships with clients, suppliers and internal team.

Education and Work Requirements:

  • Previous Account Management experience preferred however also willing to consider graduates who want a career in manufacturing or can show some sort of industrial/engineering placements.
  • Specific industry and material training will be given.
