Operations Supervisor

Job Outline

Advanced Recruit are pleased to be recruiting for a national Aerospace , Defence and Logistics specialist for an experienced Operations Supervisor.

As Operations Supervisor, you’ll support our contractual obligations for each customer ensuring their day to day business needs are met in line with the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA) as contractually laid out for you to follow.

Your position may require you to spend large amounts of time (if not exclusive) on customers’ premises.

Job Role

  • In conjunction with company guidance adopt a best practice culture on all aspects of Health & Safety, ensuring full compliance with policies and legislation that are in place for your safety and the safety of others.
  • Use Leave Planner to record holidays, sickness and absence.
  • Recognise and work with the the clients Circle of Values and uphold in your day to day role.
  • Understand and apply the company waste streaming policy and dispose of your litter in line with this policy set by the SHEQ Manager.
  • Maintain stringent controls on material & inventory flow using robust process and systems to ensure all on time targets (OTIF) are achieved.
  • Become familiar with client owned systems e.g. SAP. Provide guidance to all members of your team – become a mentor and the “go to” person.
  • Always encourage and nurture talent in the form of training. Perform a quarterly one to one review with each team member ensuring at the end of each review all documentation is signed off and sent to the Contracts Manager for filing.
  • Ensure all training needs of your team are identified and recorded and monitored on the relevant employees Skills Matrix and Training Record.
  • Where possible, provide direct customer consultation to aid their growth and development. This may require support of client led workshops and events.
  • Ensure all teams under your control receive periodic refreshment of all company policies and procedures as they change, maintain regular communication with your team to ensure flow down of information from the Business. Actively participate in and promote area specific Continuous Improvement activity, documenting and reporting on completion.
  • Assist and oversee your teams activity on Leave planner, Training Sensei and Competency Cloud. Proactively manage your available resource ensuring that minimum staffing levels are maintained in all areas.

Experience / Requirements

  • Salary initially £25k then moving to £28k pending satisfactory probation period and passing the supervisor training modules
  • Overtime Available at premium rate shift system which can vary but the standard day shift is 8.30 till 4.30 with 30 minutes lunch
  • 20 days holiday to start, then with each year of service employees get an extra day for each year employed up to maximum 5 , plus 8 days statutory.
